Privacy Policy

This policy tells you which data Octomocto collects when you use the website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We collect as little data as possible.

Play as a guest

You can play all games without an account. When you play as a guest, we do not keep your results and we do not ask you for personal data.

Data we collect

When you sign in, we keep this data:

• Email sign-in: your email address. We send you a sign-in link to this address.
• Telegram sign-in: your Telegram user ID, username, name and the URL of your profile photo, as Telegram gives them to us.
• Display name: the name you set on the settings page, if you set one.
• Game results: for each game that you finish, your score, your time and the game settings.
• Sign-in tokens: the tokens that keep you signed in, and the time of each sign-in.

Other players in the same game see your display name (or your name) and your profile photo, if you have one.

Cookies and local storage

We use only the cookies that the website needs to work: a session cookie and, after you sign in, a cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 400 days. Your browser also keeps some settings, such as the color theme and the sound, in local storage. These settings do not leave your device. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking.

Why we use your data

• To sign you in and keep you signed in.
• To show your name to the other players in a game.
• To keep your game results.
• To keep the website safe and to find and repair errors.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers that we need to operate the website:

• Our hosting provider, which stores the database and runs the servers.
• Our email provider, which sends the sign-in emails.
• Telegram, if you choose to sign in with Telegram.

How long we keep data

We keep your account data and game results until you ask us to delete your account. We delete expired sign-in tokens.

Your rights

You can change your display name on the settings page. To get a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete your account and all its data, send an email to hi@octomocto.com. Depending on where you live, the law can give you more rights. We will help you with them.

Children

Octomocto is not for children under 13. If you think that a child under 13 gave us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we will tell you on the website.
